My Bachelor’s Degree Graduation Project in 2019–2020 imagines Istanbul as the host city of the 2024 Summer Olympic Games and explores the complete visual identity and branding system for the event. The goal was to position Istanbul as a strong candidate city by creating a compelling, cohesive, and culturally rooted design narrative.

The project includes extensive research and concept development, leading to the creation of: A dynamic logo, visual identity guidelines, stationery and ticket design, pictograms for Olympic sports, stamp and name tag design, a unified pattern system, slogan and brand tone.

The branding is built on three main pillars: dynamism, connections, and durability—qualities that reflect Istanbul’s cultural and historical identity. As a city that bridges two continents, Istanbul represents the fusion of East and West, movement, and resilience across centuries.

Central to the visual identity is the seagull, a familiar symbol of Istanbul, reimagined through a mosaic style. This abstract form blends tradition and modernity while also reflecting diversity and unity. The Bosphorus Bridge, another key element, stands for both durability and connection, serving as inspiration in the construction of the logo, which evolved into a simplified, abstract line-art form.
